What is a DSR meeting?
A DSR meeting reviews the Daily Sales Report: what was sold yesterday against target, where the gaps are, and what each person will do today to close them. Many teams also cover collections, stock-outs and key customer issues.
It is not a performance review and not a planning workshop. It is a daily pulse — short, factual and action-focused.
A 15-minute DSR agenda
| Time | What | Who |
|---|---|---|
| 0–3 min | Yesterday vs target: sales, orders, average bill | Team lead |
| 3–7 min | Gaps: which product, region or person is behind, and why | Each owner, 1 minute |
| 7–11 min | Blockers: stock-outs, pending approvals, customer escalations | Anyone |
| 11–14 min | Today's commitments: one action per person | Each owner |
| 14–15 min | Recap owners and deadlines | Team lead |
Metrics to review in a DSR
- Sales vs daily target and month-to-date run rate
- Number of orders / bills and average order value
- Top 5 and bottom 5 products or outlets
- Collections received vs due
- Pipeline: new leads, quotes sent, deals closed
- Stock-outs or delivery delays that cost sales
Rules that keep a DSR useful
- Same time, every day, standing up if possible — and it ends on time.
- The report is shared before the meeting. Nobody reads numbers aloud.
- Discuss exceptions only. If a number is on track, skip it.
- Every gap leaves the room with an owner and a deadline.
- Deep problems go to a separate follow-up with only the people needed.
Common DSR mistakes
- Someone spends an hour every morning compiling the report by hand.
- Numbers arrive late or don't match between teams.
- The meeting becomes a blame session instead of a problem-solving one.
- Actions are agreed but never checked the next day.
How DOOfy helps
The slowest part of a DSR is preparing it. AIMOS One pulls sales, collections and stock into one live view, and NIMMI can prepare the daily summary — what's behind target and why — before the meeting starts, so the 15 minutes go on decisions, not data.
Frequently asked questions
What is the full form of DSR in business?
DSR most commonly means Daily Sales Report or Daily Sales Review. In some teams it also stands for Daily Status Report — a short daily update on work progress.
How long should a DSR meeting be?
10 to 15 minutes. If it regularly runs longer, the report isn't being shared in advance or the meeting is discussing items that need a separate session.
What should a daily sales report contain?
Sales against target, orders and average order value, top and bottom performers, collections, pipeline movement and any stock or delivery issues that affected sales.
